Best Time to Visit Breckenridge Breckenridge’s peak winter season is
from December to March. April in Breckenridge
provides discounts & deals on lodging, skiing and dining. Skip the summer and instead come to Breckeridge in the warmer months and try mountain biking. June through early September — Breckenridge
offers peak conditions for summer recreation and mountain activities.
You can also enjoy affordable lodging and dining deals in September
and early October.
Altitude
Issues in Breckenridge
Above 8,000 feet, altitude illness affects 20 to 30 percent of
visitors from low elevations to some degree. The first thing most people
notice is a shortness of breath, especially when exercising. In addition,
the heart is likely to beat faster and one may develop nausea, fatigue,
headache, or have difficulty sleeping. If you develop one or more of
these symptoms you may have Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). If these symptoms
do not subside within a day or two, consult a doctor.

Transportation
To & Around Breckenridge
While a number of properties are within walking distance of historic
Main Street and the mountain, Breckenridge is served by the Free Ride
Transportation System. The Free Ride travels routes through Breckenridge
connecting the resort's base areas and free parking lots, runs the perimeter
of downtown, stops at the Ice Rink, City Market, Recreation Center, Village
and Four O'clock Roads, Columbine and Broken Lance Drive and Peak 9.
